The Sally Golf competition is well on its way to hitting the century mark. Started in 1926, it’s the oldest amateur ladies’ golf competition in the world. Though this tournament is more officially called the Women’s South Atlantic Amateur Championship, most golfers continue to reference it as the Sally. This four-day competition is played each Jan at the Oceanside country club in Ormond Beach, Florida. In 2010 the competition will be played from January 13-16.

If you’re trying to find golf tournament ideas, you can go to the internet page at http://www.occ1907.com / Files / Library / 2010Entry.pdf where you’ll be in a position to register for either the Member / Sally competition or the Johannsen Senior competition. The entry fee is $300.00, and those who intend to play need to pay this fee as fast as possible . Your entry fee will permit you to free greens charges, a pairings party, 5 mornings of free Continental breakfast, a wine gala, a golf exhibition, and a Players’ feast as well as the 36 hole competition itself. It’s also a time to enjoy a great competition with other ladies who enjoy golf every bit as much as you do.

Girls from many nations come together in Florida to play in the Sally tournament. You will find athletes from many places all over the world, including Germany, Canada, Great Britain, and Norway. About ninety competitors take a role in the tournament every year. Even though it is an amateur event, and there are no monetary awards to the top scorers, competitors are still awarded prizes and customized golf items for having placed well.

Some players have made it a practice to play in the Sally every year, but can always find a number of novices, too. You’ll need to understand your handicap before you can register, as open spots in the competition are comprised of the players who have the lowest handicaps. Following the completion of the tournament, players are invited into the club’s ballroom for the awarding of prizes and some time to be together before everyone heads back home.

If you’ve a great handicap and want to play against deserving rivals, you may want to give the Sally a try this January. If you decide that you want to, make efforts to register as fast as possible to reserve your place in the festivities. Besides, won’t it be great simply to spend some time in Florida at that point of the year! You may also use some of the ideas taken from this historic competition for planning golf tournament fundraiser.

What is a Custom Hybrid Golf Club?

Many professional golfers now use hybrid golf clubs. Golf magazines and other people who know the game well have shown enthusiasm about these clubs. A custom hybrid golf club gives you the advantage of a fairway wood, and a long iron combined in one club. The clubs were designed with distance and those tough shots in mind.

It’s always a good idea to play around with clubs that have been customized for you. Since people are all shapes and sizes its understandable that they all have a different golf swing. Golf clubs which have an expert design that takes in to consideration your size, strength, and swing type will improve your golf game.

Golfers who aren’t the average height can definitely benefit from customized golf clubs. Using other peoples golf clubs or clubs that weren’t designed for you makes you have to compensate for height which could throw off your game. Many golfers know why custom-made golf clubs can help them, and custom hybrid golf clubs have become more popular.

Historically, utility clubs were difficult to use and unpopular, so the manufacturers adjusted the design. They are now both easy to use and popular among golfers.

How Hybrid Golf Clubs Benefit You

Custom hybrid golf clubs are effective because the club’s center of gravity is low on the golf club. Using a basic iron just won’t get the job done. You will be able to send your golf ball flying with this type of design.

Most custom hybrid golf clubs have a flat face and a higher launch angle. This new design makes the ball spin faster and stops quicker, making your accuracy increase.

You can hit a ball more precisely if you use hybrid golf clubs and hit the ball farther in the bargain. Purchasing custom made hybrid golf clubs can greatly help to improve your golf game.
