You seem to be an ignorant boob. yah, yah...no one knows the "secrets" of the golf swing but? you, everyone's wrong but you...blah, blah, blah. Heard this nonsense for years. Buy a clue: there are numerous styles to successfully execute a golf shot but only a finite number of fundamentals. Great insights by Jim. You? Not so much.

At 5:44 I found myself asking how the hell is he going? to square the club-face. That ball is headed to the woods on the right :)

Very stressful on the? lower spine and back. The body is not designed for that reverse "C" and Fred is paying the price.

Completely incorrect...watch this video...Golf Swing Myth Buster? 1 Shoulder Turn
By: Nightwing690. on 11 Sep 11, 08:24:29
His stands open to his target as well, so yes his shoulder turn is? very huge
By: golfnutz99. on 10 Sep 11, 15:42:07
He doesn't make a HUGE shoulder turn...he opens his? just by separating his right arm.

Whenever I've tried leading with the lower body for more distance through power? I end up spinning out of the shot and hitting massive slices where my normal shot is a draw. I don't know if it's getting out of position or not getting the clubface square at impact.

p.s: With that much of? a lateral move, I'd hate to see it if Freddy tried to keep his right heel down through the strike....I'm not sure he could do it lol.

Just goes to show you that the true fundamentals of the golf swing aren't grip, aim, setup, posture, and things like that.....it's path control, face control, and lowpoint control, and the individual things different people do with their bodies to give them that control. I tell? all my students it doesn't have to be pretty, it has to be effective and that same motion must be repeated over and over again. Thanks for your insight Mr. McLean!

Mr. McLean, As you know, Mr. Couples has a big lateral move to get the right elbow close to the body on the downswing for control. You talk about him? being relaxed. I have seen his right index finger and right thumb so relaxed that they were off the club at impact. Do you have a close up of his right hand at impact? Thanks in advance...

Thank you for the reply. That makes much more sense to me now. ? I can really identify with your latest slot swing book and how to get into the slot. The component I've been missing is using the grip that gets me to square every time. I'm trying to replicate everyone elses swing, grip, release that I need to go back to what works for me and feels natural and repeatable. Thank you again.

@bedge5The key is the club face coming down, not the grip or position of the club face at the top. I've written about this in my books for decades. Try to find? 2 tour players with the same back swing. You can't do it. The grip is configured only to get the club face square at impact. Lot's of different grips on tour, as well.

How does Couples and even Alexis Thompson release the club with such a strong grip as shown in this video and the Thompson Swing Analysis? They can't roll their forearms? or that would produce smothered hooks right? If employing the same strong grip what should the release feel or look like? It looks like Freddie still has some kind of rolling or turning over of the hands after impact...but what happens at impact? Thanks.
